ndustry funded WHO cell phone study ignores evidence and whitewashes  results

Industry funded WHO cell phone study ignores evidence and whitewashes results A funny thing happened on the way to publication of a WHO sponsored study on cell phones and cancer risks. First the study was  delayed for four years. Then a news embargo was placed on study participants. And finally, instead of reporting proof of cell  phone dangers as had been reported all the way up until just days before the study was finally released, the study instead  reported that it found no evidence of cell phone dangers, contradicting the study's evidence as well as the opinions of some study  scientists. In actuality, the Interphone Study did discover that long-term usage increased the chance of glioma by 40 per cent, but dismissed  the risk because of possible biases and errors. Six of eight Interphone studies found increased risks of glioma, the most common  brain tumor, with one study finding a 39 per cent increase. An Israeli study found heavy users were about 50 per cent more likely to suffer tumors of the parotid salivary gland. Two studies  into acoustic neuroma, a tumor of a nerve between the ear and brain, reported a higher risk after using mobiles for 10 years. A  Swedish report reported the risk as being 3.9 times higher. Contradicting the study's conclusions, Dr Elisabeth Cardis of the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology in  Barcelona who led the study said: "Overall, my opinion is that the results show a real effect." Bruce Armstrong, another  Interphone researcher from the University of Sydney, said: "There is evidence that there may be a risk; Interphone has made that  a little stronger." Interphone has been rife with controversy almost from the day it was set up in 2000. Some of the criticism stems from the fact that  mobile phone manufacturers partly funded the project to the tune of around 5.5 million Euros, and there were concerns that such  funding compromised the study's independence. The scope of the project was also questioned, as it had left out children and  adolescents, which are the groups most vulnerable and most susceptible to brain tumors. In addition, many observers and  commentators have suspected that the four-year delay was due to disagreements among the researchers. Based on what has  transpired, such concerns appear to have been valid. Until an embargo was placed on all news about the study, all indications had been that the study would conclude that there was  evidence of dangers from cell phones and recommend measures to decrease the danger. Last year the Daily Telegraph reported  that a major WHO study will finally announce later this year that, "long-term use of mobile phones can cause brain tumors." Recently, the London Times was reporting similar information. Then came the industry spin that should have provided a strong  clue that something was afoot. On May 16th, a news release from the Mobile Manufacturers Forum group, which helped fund the  study reported that the new study "provides significant further reassurance about the safety of mobile phones. The overall  analysis is consistent with previous studies and the significant body of research, reporting no increased health risk from using  mobile phones." While several other countries have strengthened warnings about cell phones, Britain's Department of Health continues to  maintain that "the current balance of evidence does not show health problems caused by using mobile phones" and suggests  only that children be "discouraged" from making "non-essential" calls while adults should "keep calls short". Given the Interphone Study's conclusions, it does not appear likely that Britain will be strengthening their guidelines soon. One  can only conclude that the mobile phone manufacturers got their 5.5 million Euros worth.  This information is for informational purposes only. It should not be taken as medical advice. CELL PHONE USAGE
Last few years has seen some raging controversy on usage of cell phones. Over 80% of the world citizens are in a possession of cell  phones. This year (2010) the number cell number in the world will exceed 5 billion and the number will keeps growing with broad band  joining the bandwagon. Evidence seems to be pouring in about the harm of 'Electro Magnetic Radiation’ (EMR) from cell phones. More  evidence is required before we raise our alarms about this device but the preliminary scientific report gives us reason to alert members  about the need to take certain precautions. One of the first advices would be to keep cell phone usage to minimum, as even a two- minute call from the cell phone alters the natural electrical activity of the brain for up to an hour.  1. Keep the handset if possible at least 2 to 7 inches away from your head or use loudspeaker mode. It decreases the transmission of  electro-magnetic radiation to the brain significantly.  2. Do not keep the cell phones close to your head when sleeping. Switch it off in the night or keep it 1.80 meters or 6 feet away from  your head.  3. If keeping cell phones in pocket keep the keypad towards you so that antenna faces away from you.  4. Don’t use cell phones if pregnant. The developing organs of the fetus or child are the most sensitive to any possible effects of  electromagnetic radiation (EMR) exposure.  5. Avoid cell phones usage in ‘metal containers’ like Vehicles, Elevators, Airplanes, Trains and any other type of metal container as it  increases the EMR.  6. Avoid using the wired headsets. If you do use headsets use an air tube headset with ferrite beads. Blue tooth are better as they emit 1/100th the EMR of a normal cell phone. With regular headsets you get 3 times more EMR than if you hold the cell phone against your ear.  7. Cell phones are a big NO for Children under 15 years as currently brain tumors are the second leading cause of death in children.  8. Keep cell phones well away from newborns. EMR travel through children’s brains much more easily due to thinner skulls and hence  increases the risk of cancer.  9. Avoid using cell phones in your pant pocket - as radiation can affect your fertility. Avoid it in breast pocket if you have a pacemaker.  10. When buying a cell phone - look for one with a low SAR or Specific Absorption Rate. Lower the SAR number the better. For  example - Popular Motorola Razr V3x has a SAR of 0.14 - which is amongst the lowest seen recently.  References: -  1. UN agency Report  2. NeurologyChannel.com  3. We are living in an increasingly dangerous environment with frequencies just below microwave frequencies to satisfy our
hunger for more and more digital Information are also bombarded with frequencies from laptops, net books, iPads, Wi Fi,
games consoles, cordless phones, microwave ovens, Bluetooth, earpieces, wireless headphones, wireless keyboard,
wireless mouse, any and all electrical equipment. We live with in ring mains electrical wiring we drive or are passengers in
motor transport, private or public each of these have a ring circuit of electricity and much more. We then work in the same
environment a ring circuit of electricity, computers, telephones and electric light or machinery of some kind.

Our bodies are remarkable machines that will adapt to certain levels of abuse ie Alcohol, frequency and EMF abuse,
smoking, drug abuse and dehydration but there comes a time when the body can take no more and the immune system is
damaged and our health is compromised and ill health soon follows. There is much in the press about mobile or cell phones
will damage your brain but nothing is proven yet so they say it is OK. Just like smoking in the not too distant past it was safe
and promoted but now carries a government health warning “SMOKING CAN KILL”. How long till phones carry this warning?
“USING THIS PHONE MAY DAMAGE YOUR HEALTH” I suspect not till it cost more to treat the people affected than the
revenue collected in taxes from the phones!

One thing you have to remember the government make big bucks in taxes form the explosion in technology just like they
made big bucks on the taxes on tobacco. It has been known that tobacco based products have been detrimental to the
nations and the worlds health and well being but money rules. Mobile phone or cell phone sales are expected to exceed
US $200 billion by the end of 2013. That figure is for sales without the monthly contract and extra calls payments. Scientific
research can not keep up with the ever changing phone technology. This technology started out with analog phone networks
and the scientists say that it is to soon to find out the long term affects of this type of network. Since then we have had the
first digital 2G network then the 3G network in 2001 in Tokyo and by the end of 2007 there were 295 Million subscribers on
3G networks worldwide. By 2009, it had become clear that, at some point, 3G networks would be overwhelmed by the
growth of bandwidth-intensive applications like streaming media. Consequently, the industry began looking to data-
optimized 4th-generation technologies, with the promise of speed improvements up to 10-fold over existing 3G
technologies. The first two commercially available technologies billed as 4G were the WiMAX standard (offered in the U.S.
by Sprint) and the LTE standard, first offered in Scandinavia by TeliaSonera.

One of the main ways in which 4G differed technologically from 3G was in its elimination of circuit switching, instead
employing an all-IP network. Thus, 4G ushered in a treatment of voice calls just like any other type of streaming audio
media, utilizing packet switching over Internet, LAN or WAN networks via VoIP.

So what hope is there that science will be able to tell us that the mobile or cell phone is safe or not for us until we start
dropping like flies from who knows what. The scientific answer will be many years down the road from now but by then we
will probably be on 7G networks.

You owe it to yourself, your family and loved ones to protect them from the sea of frequencies out there that will kill us once
our bodies can take no more and give up.

www.safe-phone.orgbecame involved because the market is flooded with information technology devices aimed at us, to make our
lives easier. These information technology devices are very bad for our health as the negative energy that is given off eats
away at our immune system.

www.safe-phone.org has developed the Tachyon disc which harmonises the negative radiation emitted by the phone and the
Tachyon strengthens your immune system.

These products have been extensively tested using Bio feedback machines, Bio resonance machines, muscle testing and
Dowsing the results are excellent. We have trailed the products with people who find it impossible to use a mobile phone
with great results.

The Law and Planning Application for Telephone Masts

Masts and health
Health risks, or even fear of possible health risks are valid considerations when the Council considers planning applications.
However, the Government's latest advice on Telecommunications in PPG 8 states:
"It is the government’s firm view that the planning system is not the place for determining health safeguards. It remains central Government’s responsibility to decide what measures are necessary to protect public health. In the Government’s view, if a proposed development meets the ICNIRP (International Commission on Non-Ionising Radiation Protection) guidelines for public exposure it should be necessary for a local planning authority, in processing the application for planning permission or prior approval to consider further health aspects and concerns about them”.
Therefore, where a mobile phone mast installation meets the ICNRP guidelines this Council cannot refuse permission. If it does it would be difficult to argue this case at appeal.
The Department of Health (see bottom of page for links) has published a few helpful leaflets on the impact of mobile phones and telecom base stations.
